Anything else

Great, I look forward to seeing you there. Is there anything you would like us to add to the course?

Cause I'm not sure to attend:

There are some special things with german law and tax related to eCommerce in Germany we can talk at the Camp before.

I hope to be at the training but can't confirm currently, cause of having a tough timeline in january.
Maybe I will be "The 13th Warrior" :)

German Tax laws

The Commerce Guys' course is on how to build the tools, how anyone uses them in any given context is, as the Germans say "another pair of shoes". :-D

I think Mike and Joeri should concentrate (as planned) on the technical aspects. The legal aspects are out of their knowledge, experience and area of expertise.

Maybe we can do a BOF or a session on "e-commerce and the German legal framework as it relates to tax and liability issues" - several of us have run into these things at one time or another ... keyword: "Freundlicher Nachbar" for example ... I would really like to know more. Who is an expert on this? I bet Super-Narres is ... can we also do a Users' Group night on this topic?

Agreed, this would make an excellent BOF.

It's fast explained

narres's picture

You know how. I know how. But this question will come :)

A BOF makes sense to let the experts know, what typical national questions are.

The 2 important (german related) questions are:

  • How to hook personalized checkout procedures?
  • How to generate individual invoice layouts?

Low level knowledge needed to implement and totally independend of a workshow like "Ubercart in deep" :)

yes, please do

good remark, I do not know how, since we are too new in this business.

Maybe I missed the BOF

Tom Freudenberg's picture

Hi guys,

have you done the BOF during the drupalcamp sessions ? I have missed this thread until now but I am very interested in. As I have already shown the "german" problems during my ubercart session in cologne, I guess there were many people running into these problems in the near future. Please keep me informed if there are any plannings to create a german ubercart group or having a german meeting for this.

Just as a remark to you, we have already realized a running live shop (events) based on ubercart for one of our customers.

It was nice to spend last two days with you.

Tom

yes, they did
