Hello
I want to disable the mouse zoom option ,
I went to gmap admin page and checked "nomousezoom : Disable mousezoom" (Disable using the scroll wheel to zoom the map.) but this does not seems to be working : the mouse wheel is allways working
any Ideas ?

To make a gmap view I think you need gmap addons:

Where would I choose gmap from? I think that is the problem. There is no choice for gmap that I can see.

prerequisites you must have installed & enable views
install the modules gmap & location
enable the modules gmap, location & gmap locaion
create new view (view type : node )
in "basic settings" change the style to gmap & choose your node type
