User group meeting
What? A social gathering of Drupal folks from the 'Burgh and environs.
Where? Birmingham Bridge Tavern.

2901 Sarah Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203 on the Southside.
When? 7--9(ish)pm, Monday October 3rd.
I was slammed this month and didn't have a chance to put together an agenda for the meeting.... so we're having a social! No presentations, just Drupallers talkin' shop. Should be some good foods and drinks as well.
We've got the upstairs, so just head on up or ask the bartender. See yinz all there!

Sounds good...
That sounds good to me. Depending on how many people are coming, we could also try the Sharp Edge in Friendship/East Liberty, or Brgr in East Liberty.
But I'd be happy with the Birmingham Bridge Tavern, as well.
Sharp Edge isn't good for
Sharp Edge isn't good for groups. They won't split your check or take cards for groups, cash only. The Build Guild Pittsburgh group quit going there because of it. They meet upstairs at Lot 17 now.

I am happy with anywhere that has a decent projection space. As far as eats go, I'm a vegetarian with Celiac, so anywhere that has veggie stir fry (or something other than pasta) would be my preference. But if we are planning one of our custom potlucks anyway, any venue is good.

and here's BrGr

Anything look good for you? The first two have great beer selections, several veg options (not sure about Celiac-friendly) and poor parking ;). I haven't been to BrGr, but I've heard it's good.
vegetarian
I only drink vegetarian beer. ;)
I like the idea of mixing it up - choose a spot and I'll be there. OK with me if it's for dinner or after dinner, with or without projection space. While being able to project is great, an occasional social event is fine by me, too.
See you all tomorrow.
Well if the projection space
Well if the projection space is not necessary, then really anywhere is good. And since all of you know the best spots in Pittsburgh, wherever you think is all good.
And re: Fen's comment, I only drink vegetarian beer.
Try finding gluten free beer:)

There are some good brands: my gluten intolerant friends get an ale that tastes great, a little smooth. But they have to buy it by the case, no restaurant I know serves it out.
Vegetarian
I second the vegetarian comments... I think the Sharp Edge has some good Veggie options

Sharp Edge has a pretty decent menu. Mark says that parking may be a problem.
Something has come up for me, and I might not be able to attend the get together tonight, so you guys just pick somewhere you like. If I am able to I will drop by.
I may miss the early part, too
Looks like I'm in for a good dinner at home tonight, so I'll arrive whereever by 7:30-ish in time to hoist a brew...
where?
Hi everybody
do we already know the place for tonight?
Depending where we go, I might not be able to make it!!!!
Original suggestion
Why don't we go to the one Mark suggested (Birmingham Bridge Tavern)? Can we get the room there?
Alternately, Lot 17 sounds good.

Birmingham Bridge Tavern sounds good
I like the Sharp Edge, but I'm game for BBT, which I've never been to before. If you can get a room there, that's fine with me. I will definitely be coming tonight, and so far, the plan was to eat with you folks like we do during a regular meeting.

Birmingham Bridge Tavern
The Birmingham Bridge Tavern has a great beer selection and they have an upstairs.... I'm not certain if the upstairs is always open. However, the upstairs is non-smokey from what i know and it has a nice area for everyone to hang out. i'd call them first and figure out if that's available. There isn't really enough space downstairs for a social group of 15 to get together.
Also, I wouldn't abbreviate the Birmingham Bridge Tavern as "BBT" call it "The Ham" if you have to (my recommendation not theirs.) Otherwise, you'll have half the group showing up at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern and the other Half showing up at the Birmingham Bridge Tavern. I had a friend who was supposed to meet a date at the BBT, she showed up at Bloomfield Bridge, he showed up at Birmingham Bridge. Amusing... is it not?
Allright Yinz Guys...
I talked to the folks at "The Ham" , and they seem more than amenable to having us. Waiting for a call back from the mgr., but tentatively we're on for 7--whenever tonight. Here's info:

Bonus, they have WiFi. They may also have a projector, though whether we can use it has yet to be decided. I'll post the specifics up here once everything's square.
Thanks Mark
For setting this up. See you tonight!
Ditto!
Thanks, Mark!
I won't be able to be there tonight.

DrupalPGH Calendar
For anyone interested, I maintain a Drupal PGH Calendar of (some) events at http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=fen%40drupalpgh.org&ctz=America...
I include address and URL info when known/available to make it easier to find the place from your smartphone.
I just added tonight's event at the 'Ham and the Ohio DrupalCamp (for which I'd like to get a ride from someone).
Ohio DrupalCamp
Hey Fen-- I'd be interested in going. Got to check, of course, but this looks very interesting. I could also probably give you a ride.

Oooo, just saw this. I'll be back in town starting mid-November, so I'm going to see if I can make my way out there too :)
I'm also interested in going
I'm also interested in going to Ohio, 80% sure I'll be free that day. Rideshare thread to follow.
Followed.
Rideshare here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/180514. Don't forget to sign up at http://drupalcampohio.org/.
Confirmed.
We're on for 7pm at the Birmingham Bridge Tavern.
That was fun!
It's nice to have the occasional informal socials like last night, it gives you a chance to talk to everyone and meet people in a manner that doesn't feel rushed as we're all hurrying to get home. Thanks Mark! Great idea!
