We need a fairly sophisticated web site developed for an organization we are creating, the International Sustainability Professionals Society. It is for people who are working to make a better future for coming generations. An example of a professional society site is http://ieee.org/. We don’t want to copy it, but the link will help convey the general needs.
I have researched the various CMSs and Drupal seems to come out on top. I have experimented with it and am impressed, but don't have the skill or time to do the entire site. As a result, we are looking for someone who knows Drupal well to configure the site which will need both core and contributed modules.
Functions include:
• General CMS based web site to be managed by staff.
• Online membership management system with personal info
• Community and social networking with ability to find and create groups of people with like interests
• Extensive discussion forum system
• Online shopping and payments
• Listings of volunteers and volunteer opportunities
• Listings of resumes and positions available
• Online payments system for membership, event registrations, publications and services
• Blogs (possibly)
• Backup system
