At the June meet-up, I demonstrated the Multicolumn filter, my first try at a D7 module. Thanks to the encouragement I received, I uploaded it to drupal.org as a sandbox project, and eventually applied for full project status. Today it passed code review, and now has its own project page: http://drupal.org/project/multicolumn .
You can see a test page and a real-life example.
On a related note, I think that the project reviewers have had significant success in taming the queue of projects, like Multicolumn, waiting for approval. Right now, I do not see any projects that have been waiting for review for more than 32 hours.
