New England Drupalcamp is now NEDcamp.

There have been recent conversations concerning the acronym for New England Drupalcamp, and our goals for the camp. The intent has always been to create an event that promotes a greater sense of community amongst Drupal users across New England. However, we learned recently that we were jeopardizing the same sense of community we were hoping to foster with our old acronym. After listening to the concerns put forth by community members, it was time for a change.

Moving forward, New England Drupalcamp is to be known as NEDcamp.

Boston Drupal Group Changes Proposal

For those of you who were (or were not) at the Boston Drupal Meetup last night, here is a link to my presentation on proposals of changes to our meetups.

https://bit.ly/bosdrupalproposal

The purpose of this proposal was to jump start a discussion on what improvements we could implement to make the meetups more useful for everyone. Which I think it accomplished based on the discussions that were sparked last night.

Ed should be posting videos of the meetup, which could be helpful in hearing the discussions we had.

Let's continue the discussions. What are peoples thoughts?

Got Lenovo?

What brand of computer is safe/good to buy?

If you've recently purchased a laptop computer made by Lenovo, you may want to hear this: Experts say the world's biggest computer maker shipped laptops with pre-installed software that could let hackers steal passwords or other sensitive information when you use the web to shop, pay bills or check email.

Question about Webforms and Mandatory/Required Fields

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on a webform for an archive that will allow scholars making a trip to that archive to ask for materials from the collection to be ready for them when they arrive. Pretty straightforward, right?

So, it's a multi-page webform (details below if you're interested). But the real problem is that on the pages in which the user requests specific items, most of the fields need to be mandatory.

Help with Drupal/PHP

I am a beginner Drupal developer trying to figure out how to create a simple page/form that contains 1. a drop down list of values that can be retrieved from the database, 2. A list of questions that can be rated using Five-Star. I would like to submit this page and then have another page display the results by the drop down value. Basically this is a simplified rating system.

Is Drupal overkill?

Do I write the pages using PHP and then add them to the Drupal content?

Is there a basic distribution that I should be using?
