In NS 2.0-alpha3 references are made with the references suite (http://drupal.org/project/references) - It this gonna change?

This post and this issue suggests that it is going to be entityreference.

Is that a final decision? And why not relation module ? I'm sure both would work, I just wanna use the right module, when I start building things on top of NS.

We are going to make the move

We are going to make the move from references to Entity reference. The reason is that the entity_reference is much more generic than references in that it can automaticly reference any entity that is defined. It also has some nice back reference things built into it, which is nice.

We have considered looking at the Relation module, and I have had some discussion around it, but we have come to the conclusion that the Relation module just can't fit our use case very well. The biggest reason for that is the approach the Relation module takes when it comes to the point of removing members of a relation, where the stance is that a relation can never change, and if it changes it is a new relation. This workflow would make it extremely hard for us to manage our relations.

Most NodeStream content types are actually somewhat built as relations in themselves since they refer to all content they need, like fact boxes and so on.

Thanks, fabsor. We'll start building out stuff with entityreference then.
