Hi everyone, My name is Maximo Mena; I live in Mesa and go to ASU Polytechnic. Inspired by my uncle, who built a web portal for his hometown, I decided to get really good at web design and development. With the help of w3schools.com and many other tutorials, I taught myself how to hand code PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Initially I used to create small web sites from scratch, but I found myself spending a great deal of time programming basic functionality such as user authentication. In other words I was reinventing the wheel. Fortunately, I learned about Joomla and Drupal and chose the latter. Now, I can't thank enough to everyone who is involved and contributing to the Drupal project. As my Drupal expertise grows I would like to give back to the community by helping others. Lastly, I am working on refining my design skills, so I find this group a great place to get feedback whenever I come up with a new site.

You sound like the right person to talk to
Hi there Maximo and everyone!
I'm a newbie to the Drupal community. I have several programmer friends who love the community and work within. They all moved out of state and I never sat down with them when they were here to fully try to understand Drupal more. In fact I was just the designer not the programmer but now I want to be more the designer/programmer and I have questions about Drupal and would really like to pick a friend's brain. I need someone to talk to on phone or person to inspire and help me get into the Drupal world.
Maximo I admire you for teaching yourself all the code and really get into to this by yourself. I'm afraid I'm not that type and really want to learn more. Don't get me wrong I do writing code for websites (HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript) and can understand a little bit of PHP, but I need help.
I went to school for design so I can offer some design skills feedback, and I'm a good cook. I really would like some help, some one on one in understanding and developing Drupal would be so helpful. Anyone who can help would be nice.
