TV Guide's X-List format?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

DOM doesn't currently use this, but we'd like to add an X-List export to the Open Media System. I've read Tightrope and Facil can export schedule information in this format.

Googling for TV Guide X-List only returns a few links before assuming I meant X-Files. It looks like TV Guide has taken a page from the ACM in developing secret standards.

Can someone who is using X-List post some details about the XML format how that information is sent to TV Guide?

Work backwards?

They've changed this format a few times since I last worked with it. I did a bunch of actual development with their 2000-era guide format for Ultimate TV and Liberate, then they moved to X-list. I did make an export format CSV file from Synergy in 2004. I will look around to see if I still have the code.
My best recommendations are to try to find someone at TV Guide who can provide some insights. They are very into "intranets" and "partner agreements" and definitely not amenable to open standards. Google search won't help.
A good idea might be to work backwards from whtever Facil spits out. Dave Becker may also be able to provide some insights about how he got it working.
I think we've also got access to the web application . . . I'll check in with our office manager at CMAP, who does the manual input of data.

Nice dig on the ACM! : )

PCM's working on getting better documentation

PCM is working with our contact at Macrovision to get some real movement on this... More information coming this week!

Did anyone make any progress on TV Guide's X-list format?

I too have been scouring the web looking for information about how to send our schedule to TV Guide. Any information or (relevant, non X-files, non Hollywood-A-list related) links would be helpful. If anyone has a suggested contact, I'd be happy to reach out to them too.

Happy holidays,

TV GUIDE

I think the meaning of life is not as elusive as getting your program schedule on TV guide. I double, triple this request. I have gotten 2 or 3 different contact emails and numbers - over the last year - only to find that they were dead ends.

contact info

You will want to contact Howard Miller. He's the ingest coordinator. howard.miller@rovicorp.com

They have a product called LO Ingest that will read a CSV, ASCII, or XML file. They are currently on hold until February or March with moving sources from A-LIST to LO Ingest. He can send you information on LO Ingest if you like.
