Hi Everyone.

I'm new to Nodestream. I have a couple+ years experience using Drupal (beginning with 5x)but am not a Drupal genius. My work is in publishing and education so I'm pretty much stumbling around and am grateful for these forums for filling in the gaps in my knowledge. The latest profiles, especially under D7, are really terrific and I'm very excited to have found Nodestream. It's quicker/lighter than I thought it would be, especially compared to some other profiles in D6. Anyhow, one question I have may be simply answered...

Updates!

I get messages that there are updates, especially security updates, for some of the modules in Nodestream profile. I know at Open Publish this issue--do not update certain modules but rather wait for the update of the profile-- is pretty clearly advertised on the OP group page. I assume that this is true for Nodestream... modules included in the profile should not be updated.

Is that correct?

I updated the core with no problem, but mostly I just want to make sure that by doing nothing (except waiting for next release of NS profile) I am doing the right thing.

Sorry if this is spelled out somewhere. I couldn't find anything about this, so if I missed the obvious. Also, I don't have capacity for Drush - so if the answer includes that please advise me on a good tutorial for that for a middling-fumbling end user.

Thanks for your time.

Hi!

In general it's better to just wait for a new NodeStream update when modules needs to be updated. A new release, alpha 4, was just released.
