I was receiving all these jobs via email and at some point I thought maybe it's because of my email settings. Now that I look at the group, I see most of the posts are job postings.
It's not necessarily a bad thing. With about 500 members, some technical question/answer would be more valuable.
What do you think?

I think that it's just a limitation of the groups modules they have installed. I'd like to just subscribe to discussions and events, but obviously if you let people have free access to post jobs then it will just become a jobs board.

Perhaps http://drupal.org.uk/forum would be a better alternative?
Or maybe even http://drupal.stackexchange.com/ as it uses stackoverflow's great Q&A software?
the advantage here is
the advantage here is geographical location. if someone needs help with his/her Drupal site, they can actually continue the discussion offline. sometimes you find the right people for your business easier this way.
At least that's how I get my job offers. I think we can be more active and use this group more instead of forum. It wouldn't hurt if open a discussion here too. Don't you think?
