Main Menu with Superfish and Home Page

hello All,

recently i have developed a site. It works well and looks good.
now, i have to translate it into eight languages. 

seems simple enough if you follow instructions:

I have following modules installed:
- i18n ( Internationalization );
- Variable;
- Entity;
- Title ( node title translation );
- Views translation;
- Entity Translation;
- Transliteration;

I am running Sky theme ( old version, before its integration with Adaptivetheme ).

the problem is - it's not working as it should:

1) main menu - is not responding to a call from Language Switch block, even though i have configured it according to instructions ( considering that i need 8 very extensive menus - about 50 items each, i decided to build separate menus for each language ) - have to say that Main Menu Block and its translations in default form are responding to translation just fine, but i need to have it integrated with Superfish which in turn kills translation. Superfish Blocks set to "Make this block translatable" and "Show this block for these languages". For Menus I've tried two patterns: "Translate and Localize" and "Fixed Language".

2) home page is not responding to language switch as well, I have configured Home Page var and Pages var, but that has no effect.

what I should mention is that I don't need to translate admin interface - only content, and what I've noticed is
that when I click on one of language choices in Language Switch block I can see in the source file that   class remains the same - i18n-en , which to me seems to be the root of the problem.

so, the question is - what do I do to have page.tpl to adapt to translation or, perhaps, there is something else that I've missed.
