Storm itself won't send
Storm itself won't send emails, but you can use any of Drupals notification or trigger/actions modules to send an email when the storm task / ticket node is created or updated.

Another option is the Storm
Another option is the Storm Ticket Assignment Module from Storm Contrib. It will send you an E-Mail, when you receive a new ticket or if it is modified.
But it needs Storm 2.x. Both (Storm Contrib and Storm 2.x) haven't a stable release yet.

Thanks for your comment, actually I had problems with contrib storm, but keep trying.

Just to add to that, I use the module called Notify to send emails about new/updated content.
On another website I use Rules.
Not sure which one is best. Maybe Rules because you can define what the email says.
