This month I'll be doing a walkthrough of using Commerce Kickstart (a Drupal distro that will get you 90% of the way of having your Drupal Commerce site up and running). We'll walk through installing Commerce Kickstart, installing additional modules and discussing how Products are setup and if we have enough time, go over Rules in Drupal Commerce (the true power in Drupal Commerce).
If you are going to install Kickstart in the meeting please make sure that you have a *AMP stack installed and running before the meeting.
Please remember that there is a suggested donation of $5 or more at Urban Rethink. Its not required but it is appreciated :)
Parking map of Urban ReThink - I don't recommend the garage (unless there is a massive event at Lake Eola)
P.S. Don't forget that there will be a FREE Drupal Coworking event at Urban Rethink next week!
P.P.S. Don't forget that 2012 Florida DrupalCamp registration is open! Early bird registration is now over but you can still get your ticket for just $25.

Lunch Before
I'll be hitting Gringos Locos before the meeting (around 11:45am) to get some lunch. Feel free to stop by and grab some lunch, I always enjoy a good chat.

Drupal Commerce, just what I
Drupal Commerce, just what I am currently investigating for a client. Any chance of a remote join for that event?
In your opinion is Drupal Commerce stable enough now for a live site application (with no need for shipping integration), and developed enough that a non-programmer can use?

drupal commerce
Hi Greta,
I do believe that Drupal Commerce is stable enough for a live site (there are many out there already). The only area that I feel still needs some polish is shipping, but that is well on its way.
A non-programmer can use it and have a working site but I feel the need to add the disclaimer that Drupal Commerce is complex. 99% of the users will never have to touch a line of PHP to use it.
...but I feel the need to add

No worries. I'm complex too, and 99% of people don't need to touch me to use. grin
remote
Forgot about the remote part. I'm not 100% sure, I'm still fairly new to Urban Rethink and haven't had too much luck with their network. I'll check with Ryan beforehand.
Do you have Google+ (for hangouts?)

So, with Rules, could you create a calendar event on the fly, where some order data is passed -- such as dates of order?

Sorry, didn't see this at first. Post in G+ and I'll see it faster :)

Actually, for my use, it would be for rentals. So the renter would specify the dates (range) that they want to rent the item.
(The b-day reference was a joke in response to the singing in bg.)
Do you enter the price only
Do you enter the price only in the product content type? You don't have to update that it 2 places (display as well), do you?
