Hi Folks,
Moving on to test UBERCART I got this error on the module install.
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 42 bytes) in /home/virtual/irlgov.info/public_html/drupal/includes/database.mysqli.inc on line 162
I have only got 20m available in the php.ini file. Low cost ISP cant offer more space. Bar changing ISP is there a quick fix?

Mhh you could try increasing
Mhh you could try
increasing memory in the settings.php file and or htaccess but since you are limited to 20MB either ways not sure if that would work
http://drupal.org/node/207036
or removing any modules you dont really need, not a great option i know but you would get an idea where the tipping point is...

PHP memory ubercart upgrading hosting
Hi Martin,
Thanks for the link.
Looks like Ill have to invest. Seems UBERCART needs 24m+. I have a lead on http://www.register365.com/lite-host.html. Looks like €30 pa with 128m PHP memory (even has Perl+Python+Ruby).

blacknight
Give blacknight.ie a try. Max they allow is 16MB in ini. However, I have had some issues with installs in the past and contacted them where they offered to do the install for me. All depends who you get on customer service I suppose. I have been more than happy with the service there. Just another option for you

Blacknight are comming in at 50 euros pa. I was getting hosting out of Denmark (Basic Drupal cms 6.10
) at £6 pa. (http://www.clichehosting.com/uk/default.asp?wid=110&sid=3 ). Very stable no frills offer. Ill give register365 a go. They used to be an Irish outfit but I think they are now UK based. Ill update how I get on after Easter.

have a look at letshost.ie
have a look at letshost.ie not sure on their limit - check them for prices and memory size
if not site5 I know definatly exceed 20MB could be more than 32MB not sure on the figures though -sorry (I remember making a change in the htaccess file)
letshost.ie do a vps server for 18 euros a month, blacknight is E20, you should be able to set your own limit but this probably isnt cost effective for testing

Update
Martin
Yowww! dats 200+ euros a year - That Brian Lenihan has me strapped doh! :-(
I can confirm register365 at 29.50 euros a year with a whopping 128mb for php memory, PHP ver 5.2.6 and register_globals OFF. This looks like the best value right now!
