So, I got all the kinks worked out with the updates for my site (YAY!!!) and now I'm ready to update the live site. My concern is this... I updated the test site quite a bit to keep everything looking consistent and while doing that, my live site was being updated with new nodes and I want to incorporate both of these things. If I move all the files from the test site to my live site and run database updates, will I then have a live site with the nodes that aren't on my test site but with the work I've done to the test site? Or, will I need to do the tweaking again on the live site, but now I know just what to do because I got to practice on the test site?
Thanks!

Yeah...this is always a
Yeah...this is always a challenge.
There are some advanced dev -> stage -> production workflows that I don't have time to discuss now. One solution involves the use of the Features module.
For now, however, you'll probably just want to go through the steps on your live site in the same way you did on the test site. Having the test site to refer to will be helpful.
We should schedule a meet up about this.

Good to know before I get started this weekend updating the live site. If I went in with expectations that all would work as my overly-optimistic imagination wanted it to, then I would have been disappointed! Also, in the future I will try to keep detailed notes of the changes I make to the test site... with trial and error, you can forget exactly what you did that fixed that misaligned slideshow. A meet up about this would be fantastic.
