Hey folks. Just wanted to give you a heads up about a couple of important local classes we'll be offering through The Lifelong Learning Center here in Missoula.

These classes aren't 100% official yet since the Spring catalog is not printed, but I'll let you know once registration opens up. For now, mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Introduction to Drupal

Drupal is a powerful, open-source Content Management System (CMS) used to build flexible websites. In Getting Started with Drupal we'll explore the basic features of Drupal while creating an example community website. We'll use a hosted platform known as Drupal Gardens to help users avoid many of the hassles of setting up your own website (hosting, server connections and management, backups, and more). This class is perfect for either those wanting to set up and manage their own website or you may follow this class with "Drupal in Depth" if you'd like to extend your Drupal knowledge.

Prerequisites: basic comfort with the use of a computer

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm
April 17-May 3

Drupal in Depth

Drupal in Depth expands on the topics learned in "Introduction to Drupal". We'll install and configure Drupal on a web server, add contributed modules and external libraries, and install custom themes to change the look of our Drupal site. This class is designed for students who either desire to build and maintain their own Drupal site and require more flexibility than Drupal Gardens can offer or for those interested in pursuing Drupal development professionally.

Prerequisites: "Introduction to Drupal" or similar knowledge (may require consent of instructor), file management skills

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm
May 8-31
