How do I go about querying "People who live more than 30 minutes from.."?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I want to analyse resources by travel time. I would like to shade areas of the map that are more than 30 minutes drive from our clinics. Would like to add in bus routes eventually, but one thing at a time. I have absolutely no idea where to start. Any ideas?
