I've been struggling with this problem for quite a while now. What I'm attempting to do is load the block created by the finder module-

via colorbox. I've managed to load the form properly with this bit of code I've written-
However, the finder fails to autocomplete. I noticed that after simply loading the form via module_invoke() didn't load the appropriate javascript as well, so that's the reason I added it via hook_node_load(). Firebug still reports "settings.finder_autocomplete is undefined" upon loading the colorbox.
I'm now paging through drupal.js to better understand Drupal.attachBehaviors(). If someone could provide some direction, I'd be much obliged. Thanks for your time.

Ah, it figures that I answer my own question after submitting to the community (apparently my brain doesn't really start working until that point). The issue was that the way I originally was loading it was via as an iframe, therefore not giving it access to the loaded javascript. Therefore, I just added the block to the page, hid the container, then had colorbox load the child div. Presto.
