One last appeal to Twin Cities Drupal people to help with Occupy Wall Street Drupal Site (an opportunity)

Re: http://99online.us -- an Occupy Wallstreet site and a way to serve your country.

I am making one last appeal to Twin Cities Drupal people to help with an Occupy Wall Street Drupal Site. This could be viewed as an opportunity, if you are pro-OWS and live in the Twin Cities, because my site is the only Occupy Wall Street site around the area (though there are a few in the US). [Most OWS webmasters, though, unwisely went with some WordPress with BuddyPress sort of kit -- and many of the sites run poorly.]

By the way, I would like to know if anyone sees my site as running poorly. For example: is the load time slow? As you may know my Drupal OWS site has the convenient domain name http://99online.us that gets to it (though it is really http://ows.nottoolate.info aka http://mynichecomputing.org/drupal6 ) The other thing I am interested in is getting some experienced Drupal admin to just sit with me and, when I am logged in as admin to my OWS site, taking a look and seeing if anything is glaringly wrong.

I know I may seem to be bothering you all with basically the same request (but, with each variation of the request, I am trying to make the request more limited).

Some of the hallmarks of the greater Drupal community is inclusion of everyone and mutual respect. Your comments in this thread are inappropriate for this forum, and are harmful to our Drupal community as a whole.

A community member has asked for help with his project. He is not broadcasting doctrine or spreading a viewpoint. He is asking for help.

Your comments are off the topic, disrespectful, and unproductive to the Drupal community. Please refrain from alienating the Drupal Project with inappropriate comments in the forums.

There is plenty of room on the internet for this discourse, it's just not here.

Thanks!

I partially agree

Wylbur, I can agree that the two comments you cited may be considered off topic and unproductive. However, I don't see anything disrespectful in either. I will apologize for my comment being off topic and unproductive.

To be fair, if you are going to comment on these two posts, then you should also comment on colinlee's post, "Sounds fine" (below), which is much more disrespectful and, I believe, in poor taste.

Respectfully, Curt

Curt, you have your taste and

Curt, you have your taste and I have mine. Yours apparently includes flame-baiting. If you're going to be disrespectful to new users asking for help, there are other places to go on the Internet.

Quit pretending to be respectful after the fact. Either do here or do not elsewhere.

Politics is always a touchy

Politics is always a touchy subject. Before this gets any more heated please stop, take a deep breath, and realize this isn't the venue for this discussion.

If you're interested with helping Brad with the site, that's what this thread is for. Whatever else you believe about the content of the site that discussion doesn't have a place here. Please don't make us have this thread shut down.

I encourage all parties to go read the Drupal Code of Conduct:

I left a longer comment in this thread about this topic, but wanted to be clear that this comment is also inappropriate.

Thanks!

Sounds fine

Paying work always comes first, but I'd relish taking down ANY Ayn Rand-sucking troll. I'll help, lorlarz.

Thanks, Colin, what I would really like to do ...

Colin, what I would really like to do for starters is meet you some where with a secure wireless and just show you what I have going to see if you see ways to improve things.

Making a 'distribution' is less of a interest, because no one is asking for one.

I'm not actually in the Twin

Fanaile's picture

I'm not actually in the Twin Cities, but I am very close to there (about 20 minutes away from St. Paul). If you would still like some help and if this is close enough, you can email me or contact me via my profile and I will take a look for you.
