We all enjoy our monthly Drupal Social Hour in DC, but this month, let's start getting some work done!
A lot of us came back from Drupalcon excited about the Learn Drupal initiative spearheaded by the Boston user group. If you missed the April 9 meetup, the goal of the initiative is to raise the number of Drupal.org users who contribute to core, up to a full 1% by the US Drupalcon 2014.
Core involvement is being increased through two types of events:
- Learn Sprints: Get together for an hour, and work through the next lesson on the Drupal Ladder.
- Issue Sprints: Get together for two hours, and work to move a core Drupal issue forward.
The first DC Learn Sprint will be taking place at the Phase2 offices in Alexandria at 7pm on Tuesday, April 17.
Who should attend?
Anyone who is interested in helping out with Drupal is encouraged to join us. It helps if you have some programming background, but it's not necessary: everyone has to start learning somewhere, and you can get started without any previous experience.
Please bring your laptop and arrive promptly so that we can get started on time.

The office is right near the Braddock Road metro stop, on the yellow and blue lines. From the metro, take a left out of the station, then cross the street at the crosswalk and go through the Braddock Place arch. 1330 is to the left.
