In order to (hopefully) prevent history from repeating itself, let's use this thread to reinvigorate the 4 (that's right, I said 4) Coding for a Cause projects:
- Feed Florida First
- Victim Service Center
- Aerostars
- Central Florida Computer Society
At the April 12 Brevard meetup, we were able to discuss a few of these. If you're involved in any of these projects, please leave a comment below with a status update.
Current status of Feed Florida First
(via Ben Hosmer) We believe that we are just waiting for a review of the site from Michelle (the site owner). Once she provides us with the green light, we should be all set.
Current status of Victim Service Center
(via Dorothy Cleary) The basic site structure is in place. Several volunteers are currently adding content. The site still needs some theming work. Dorothy will provide a more detailed update in the comments below.
Current status of Aerostars
(via Ben Hosmer) He doesn't know much. He says to ask Joe Moraca.
Current status of Central Florida Computer Society
(via Mike Anello) Sandy Milligan and Susan Jeck worked on this site for a portion of their internship for the most excellent Anello Consulting, Inc (wink wink). At this point, we are about 75% complete on the functionality side, but haven't made too much progress on theming. We are also waiting for feedback from CFCS.
All projects are always in need of volunteers - if you have a particular skill that you'd like to share, please leave a comment below.
Thanks,
-mike

I think Feed Florida First
I think Feed Florida First can launch live any time!
What did we ever decide about hosting?
CFC site launch/s
We should do a public launch event of some sort.
Victim Service Center
The home page is just about done. We still have the whole donate page to build and add content.
