Drupal
* Rock solid & high quality platform
* Real multi-site-feature (only one installation for several sites)
* Any Kind of user groups & user permissions, OpenId compliant in Version 6
* Can run membership and community sites, not only CMS etc

* Drupal needs a little time investment to realize all the huge possibilities of Drupal
* Clear, high quality code and API (easy to integrate with other solutions etc)
* Flexibility and no known limitations

* Easy install & setup with your mouse
* Easy learning curve
* Cannot integrate other scripts etc. to your site
* Generally you cannot create high-end sites, without investing huge amount
* No SEO out of the box, URLs are not search engine friendly.
* Server resources utilization is more compared to drupal
* Only one site per installation

Joomla runs on IIS
While Im not likely to recommend Joomla over Drupal, it does run fine on IIS 6+.
That said, Joomla has some left over PHP4 coding in it that can create minor headaches for the uninitiated. Also, I wouldn't call its admin interface user friendly, its clunky in its own way.

Just reading through the drupal forum i came across a post which was discussing about a comparison between drupal and joomla.
I have my assessment of both the systems on various aspects.
FLEXIBILITY: drupal is awsome when it comes to flexibility, while Joomla is not that flexible.
THEME: the joomla theme is quite too much attached with the joomla core so you do not have complete control over the theme. Drupal give you power to do just anything to your theme.
COST: When it comes to development the joomla is going to pinch your pockets with much more bucks than drupal, as the plugin and extensions are mostly not free. In case of drupal its all free.
MULTIPLE ROLES: Joomla does not offer you any more extra user roles but drupal gives you any number of user roles with different permissions. Seems perfect for membership websites.
POWER: With CCK, panal, and views you limited only by your imaginations about what can be done on drupal. No such powerful modules in joomla.
MULTILINGUAL: Drupal is a perfect solution for multilingual websites with I18n module. Joomla though offers some multilingual features but not as exhaustive as drupal.
SYNC: Most important feature is the different modules sync very well with each other to add functionality to each other but joomla has modules which are standalone in itself.

Drupal > Joomla
I personally favor Drupal (which is probably why I'm hanging out here), but here are some of my pros/cons, which I posted on Quora (link below).
DRUPAL
Pros:
- Extremely flexible
- Developer friendly
- Strong SEO capabilities
- Enterprise friendly
- Stability
- Active community willing to help
- Tons of helpful modules built by the community
- Multisite and multidev capabilities
- Quality code & API
Cons:
- Steeper learning curve
- Lack of easy to implement themes (I'd say Wordpress is best for that)
- Need to add modules for each site
Drupal can handle pretty much any site from a personal blog to a full blown enterprise website. There are many high profile sites that use Drupal. I will add more info with links in my resources below.
JOOMLA
Pros:
- Relatively user-friendly (far behind WP though)
- Extension variability
- Easy installation
Cons:
- Learning curve, similar to Drupal
- Lacks SEO capabilities
- Limited ACL support
Thoughts? Things I should add?
