Demo to present
I just finished a site running a proximity based user search and SMS texting that sounds complex but in reality can be easily built to run a number of other projects. I can show how I created it, how it's being used now in humanitarian efforts, and some of the stumbling blocks along the way (many around the mapping and proximity came up).

Integrating with external web APIs
I'd like to talk about integrating Drupal sites with external web APIs – working with REST based APIs, JSON, and using the "French Cafe Method" to help decode under-documented APIs. I'll use examples from my current project of extending a Drupal based online classroom to integrate with the online gradebook, ActiveGrade.
Demo site
I can show off the site that's been keeping me busy the past few months, http://artidea.org. It's for an annual arts/ideas festival back east -- kind of like a two-week-long Bumbershoot. The site is mobile-friendly/responsive and uses Display Suite, Context, Views, Reference, Bean, Location/GMAP, and more.
sounds like a great agenda
Looking forward to DUG tonight!
