まず東京グループはDrupal知識を勉強会チームを編成して広げていくグループです(グループテーマ)。そこでどういうフォーマット、日時(週末、平日)、時刻など都合の良い時間などあれば是非教えて下さい。
This group is about learning Drupal through small study groups. And we're wondering when and where you might like to casually meet up with us. If you have specific preferences like place, time and which days you are available by all means just tell us. Any kind of feedback will be great!

Meeting developers
Hi, I'm currently developing a Drupal site and have been working with Drupal for about a month now. I love the modules and options available, but there's a lot more work than I can handle by myself.
I'm interested in meeting any other Drupal developers in the Tokyo area. I would be happy to meet any time and anywhere inside the Yamanote. I currently live near Ikebukuro.
日本語でもいいよ!
Best regards,
Dave
Next "Japan" Group meeting
Hi Dave!
At the "Japan" group we're scheduled to meet 8/1, and most of us are from the Tokyo area. I think mojipittan (guy from UK) is always looking for work he's a bit far away, but I haven't heard from him in a while. Try emailing him, he does seem to know quite a bit about Drupal and is on Twitter a lot as " jonnyli " (actually you might want to contact him through twitter).
I actually live very close to Ikebukuro (bicycle distance) but I'm a Drupal 3 month newbie too but know php, so if you need help with any Japanese or php that's fine with me, Just send me some email, after today I have some time. Stein, Antoine and Shaun at the Japan group are the knowledgeable Drupalers in that Group but they're all busy.
And you could also try to post jobs at the Japan group, we're steadily growing in numbers every day so you might find someone who's interested.
Just send me a note on when, and we'll post an event at the Japan group and maybe some other communities, and here, we might get a mini-session going. Whereas our monthly meets at the Japan group are like almost 20 people gathering for more than 5hrs.
Best regards,
Scott
feel free to post questions
feel free to post questions in English at the Japan Group site http://groups.drupal.org/japan, we're kind of a bilingual bunch.
Yep, looking to meet up in
Yep, looking to meet up in Tokyo to discuss programming drupal modules or any related topics.
:)
How are we going for 2010?
How are we going for 2010? Got any dates or proposed dates for the weekly/bi-weekly meetups yet?
Looking forward to focusing on drupal this year. Keen to get started. :)
what's up! well..
The place where this group usually meets at Ikebukuro is a place that is ideal for good weather, since the place is a spaced out European-like cafe, where most of the seating is outside. Sipping on foreign beer, economic French food, enjoying the weather.. wifi away from the crowd, talking to European tourists etc..
There are talks to start a Japanese Drupal knowledge-base for beginners in a month or two here. Since I'm still a Drupal newbie I intend to learn something on the way. For reference I personally want to get something worked out like Japanese version of Acquia, or Lullabot, or badcamp.net.
If you have any interesting topics to cover, discuss, if we can get a study group or session going, that would be interesting.
Any ideas?
And we'd have to find a place ideal for this current weather, to congregate, a place where we would be left alone, but I can't think of a place yet. Maybe some cozy cafe a bit on the outskirts of some town?
Best regards,
Scott
Very Keen. Ideas for topic: *
Very Keen.
Ideas for topic:
* "molding modules" - when module 'A' has 10 features but you only want to use 2 of those. Module 'B' has 4 features. A discussion about best practices to get all the features you want in your site without over-clutter.
- Do you hide the clutter with CSS
- Do you make a custom module extracting the code from Module A and B to create Module C
- Do you create Module C that contains 'tweaks' to get rid of the rest of the stuff
- Do you 'just live with it' having an over cluttered admin area because the front-end is how you want it.
Love to discuss this.
"where are those damn settings" - What to do when you know there is a setting somewhere in the admin that needs to be changed, but cant remember where it is.
"Knowing which hook to use" - how to figure out which hook it is you need to use when you want to do something. eg: ubercart has panels in the checkout phase that can be re-arranged, no problem. But that same order is kept for the order confirmation page as well. Which hook would you use if you wanted one order on the 'checkout' input screen and a different order on the checkout confirmation screen.
but what is the best practices/ easiest way to do it? I don't know, love to discuss it.
sounds interesting..
sounds interesting.. if we could find a Drupal expert and bring him to our next session that would be great.
I'll be there if any sessions take place.
Great topics!
Those are all great questions and definitely would make for an interesting session. I know I always have those same questions!
Bug in login?
I get emails whenever there is a new comment on this site. When I follow the link in the email I get this page and I'm usually not logged in so there is a link that says 'you must log in to post a comment'. So far so good.
However, when I log in the site still gives me the 'login' tab, and still says 'you must log in ot post comments'. If I click on the login tab I get an error message saying 'You do not have permission to access this page'.
Is this a site-wide problem with g.d.o? (If it is I can't believe no one's fixed it!)
Same here. I need to remove
Same here. I need to remove the #whatever from the end of the url in the address bar and hit enter to reload the page to display the reply button. Thought it was something wrong with my settings so have been ignoring it.
yes it is probably a g.d.o site wide glitch.
yes it is probably a g.d.o site wide glitch meaning all the g.d.o users around the world are probably experiencing this.
Wow ...
With this bug affecting so many people strange it's still around!
Wonder if that means that:
1- Drupal developers aren't using g.d.o at all
2- g.d.o maintainers haven't noticed the bug
3- Or ... to small a bug and can't be bother to fix such a small thing :)
If #1, what do they use??
I think,
I think all Drupal developers utilize Drupal.org and groups.drupal.org.
The fact that the 2 sites were combined I think this means that g.d.o. is a significant site.
Assuming that combining the sites was a complicated process beyond what at least what I can imagine, the situation is probably #3. It's not critical enough bug to fix right away.
hi all
I thing, we dont have a problem. In Drupal, permission user very power, we're know contruction drupal use to Taxonomy and node is center of system content, so if we want to write a entry, comment ... you sure you have in permission group? if you check again have same message (asme you said), you should contact webmaster for that permission. good luck.
Of course we have permission.
Of course we have permission. If we didn't how could we write comments like this one? ;)
You sure?
