Display suite: Teaser cuts off at . (full stop) and not the set number of characters

I am having this issue with Display Suite with Omega theme.

I have set trim after 80 characters. But if I have a text like,

"Yesterday we went to see Mr. Robinson blab lab bla bla bla bla bla bla bla"

only "Yesterday we went to see Mr." is shown.

Seems related to Display Suite.

Any ideas?

it worked for me with these modules:

Field Formatter Settings: http://drupal.org/project/field_formatter_settings
Field Word Boundary: http://drupal.org/project/field_word_boundary

You could also simply click "Edit Summary" and specifically add a summary as opposed to using the trimmed version of the original. More work? Slightly. More usable to site visitors because they read a summary of the article as opposed to the trimmed first paragraph? Absolutely.

This is a drupal core issue in function text_summary(), see http://drupal.org/node/221257
If you use the 'Long text and summary' field, then you can do as torq suggests and manually edit summaries--this is the approach I took as well.
