Boost Module installation on Multisite and .htaccess files

I have a multi-site implementation of Drupal and I'm looking to implement the Boost module for all supported sites. Part of implementing Boost is updating the .htaccess file with Boost module generated config information.

I currently have a single .htaccess file in my /web directory via my hosting provider. But I've noticed in my Acquia Dev Desktop installation that there are .htaccess files in the site directories for all the sites I've created.

So, my question is... do I create .htaccess files for each of my sites and put unique Boost module config information for each different site, or do I just do it a single time in the .htaccess file in my /web directory?

not all .htaccess are created equal

The .htaccess in the "docroot" is different and serves a different purpose than the .htaccess files in "docroot/sites/%"

The Boost settings would be set up once per docroot meaning that they would affect all of the sites in a multisite.

Thanks. And a couple of follow-up questions.

I take it I have to set the Boost settings and configuration options the same across all sites in my multi-site setup. Do I do the initial setup for the primary domain (www.example.com) or for the subdomain or subfolder site (development.example.com or www.example.com/development)?

Also, if I need to make changes what's the best procedure to do that and will making those changes 'break' any aspects of sites that are not in Boost alignment, or do I just lose the Boost functionality until the settings are configured in line with the new settings?

My htaccess not working on multisite

My htaccess seems to conflict with HTTP Parallel Request Lib.
