Creating a large text box for users to practice typing

Hello everyone this is my first post. I am currently trying to develop an e-learning section to my site that displays a flash presentation on the top half of the page and then an area to practice typing in the bottom half of the page. I want this to be an open text box. It will not be an input form, just simply an area for the user to type in. I do not know how to set this up and any advice or guidance would be appreciated!
