Just watched this screencast http://www.developmentseed.org/blog/2009/may/29/making-and-using-feature... and am really amazed by this.
Is there any place where features (not the module) can be downloaded from? To be able try this out with something like that Discography feature would be great.

You should check out our demo of Spezzle, it's a platform specifically built for collecting use cases and their implementation. You can find the demo at spezzle.com
We will use the patterns approach for importing settings, but in some time it should be possible to describe also features as patterns I believe.

This feature is available in the Features issue queue... I installed it and it works great...
