UK Midlands Drupal Mini-Conference - 29th September 2009 - Coventry
I'm working with Illuminate ICT to organise a one-day UK Midlands Drupal Event / Mini-Conference
It will be held on 29th of September, somewhere in the Coventry area (venue hasn't been agreed yet but we're aiming at being close to a junction of the M6).
We'll be sharing ideas on best practice, building better websites, Drupal social websites, staying on the right side of the DDA, monetising Drupal websites and more.
We're also running a session where delegates can show off some recent Drupal projects and technical achievements.
Places will be limited and a website with booking form will be up soon.
The price is likely to be in the region of £25 per person to cover costs (including lunch etc).

Great to see a Drupal get together in the midlands.
If possible try not to charge and get sponsorships instead. http://drupalcamp.org.uk/ got sponsors and made the event free. Perhaps they could put you in touch with the right people to ask?

I'll pass your suggestion onto to the guys at Illuminate. They ran an event last year without sponsorship but I think your idea is a good one.
Having said that, we're not expecting any more than about 25 people really.

Please could you consider a Birmingham venue for some events, to bring it 40 minutes closer to Wales and the West of England?

Hi,
I think this event would have better turnout (of attendees) if it was a free/sponsored event.
Take into account that from Manchester this is already a £30 train fare... £55 for an event, especially of this small size doesn't seem to be that good
