Darn, I'm literally within walking distance of that (just moved to the area) but can't make it that day because it conflicts with Yom Kippur.
Definitely interested if there are any future meetups in Rockville, though..
So close to me too! Thanks
So close to me too! Thanks for hosting a meetup out in Rockville. I'll make sure I can be there for sure!
Please RSVP so we can get numbers for pizza
We're planning on getting pizza for the meetup, so please signup if you're coming so know how much to get.
See you Wednesday!

I'm in! See you there.
I'm in! See you there. I'm vegan though, so don't count me for pizza.

One night only...
I'll show. Rockville is pretty far out for me, so I don't anticipate that I'll be down there very often, but I can make it happen tonight. I'm not sure if you guys have presenters or not, but I've got a demo or two floating around.
Bummer
I can't make it, but put me down for pizza anyway and then make Aaron eat it. Thanks!
Awesome event!
Brock, you missed an awesome event. Seriously, the location was choice. The people were great. The presentations were very good. The after party at Matchbox was fun. :-)
Thanks to Aaron for organizing and for having the event in Rockville. Looking forward to more events in this part of MD.
Thanks to Barrett and everyone at USP for hosting, presenting and the pizza! There was way too much pizza!
Nice
That DOES sound pretty awesome.
But—leftover pizza? My instructions were very clear:
MAKE AARON EAT IT.
Aaron really fell short on
Aaron really fell short on the pizza eating. He ate his own portion, maybe, but not Kat's or yours. Personally, I think it reveals a disturbing lack of commitment to the group. ;)
Hey!
I ate two pieces. I did my part.
You misunderstood your requirements
Your duty was to eat two pizzas not two pieces.

Damn - I got swamped with a 14 hour work day and couldn't make it out. Deadlines are fun. The location is awesome though as I work about a block away. Jealous I missed matchbox also.
I was starving last night too - I could have definitely eating some of that pizza...
Woah, Rockville's a thing
Woah, Rockville's a thing now? And Matchbox? I can't wait for next time!

I'm new to the group - an organization I'm involved with is using Drupal as the back end for the new web sites they are building, and I've been asked to bone up. Since that was the first time I heard the word "drupal" - I thought they were referring to the famous cartoon dog Droopy...I bought the O'Reilly book ("Using Drupal") and am looking forward to making some of these meetings (especially Rockville, as I'm in Bethesda).
And incidentally, I would have destroyed the pizza...
:)

Welcome to the group!
I'm sure you'll find this group to be as friendly and welcoming as any.
"Using Drupal" is a good book, if a bit dated. My copy addresses v6, which is fine if you're working in a v6 environment. However, if your site is v7, you'll notice a lot of differences. (I'm not aware of a newer version being published - to be honest I haven't looked.)
Also feel free to reach out to the group when the inevitable questions arise.
Re: Welcome to the group!
Thanks! I bought the second edition, which was updated for v7. I will definitely get involved and ask questions of the group as they come up.
welcome
Good luck. Drupal's a pretty good framework, but (and you'll hear this repeated everywhere) there's nothing out there like the Drupal community. The more you can get involved, the faster you'll pick this stuff up.
As a shameless plug, the Baltimore meetup tends to focus on beginner topics and Drupal education. That's a bit of a hike for you, but worth considering (not to suggest that the Maryland group isn't anything short of awesome).
welcome
Excellent, good to know about Baltimore - yes a bit far, but if scheduling works out, it's doable.
Clarification
Like the Maryland Meetup the Baltimore Meetup focuses on a variety of topics from basic to advanced. We've had special meetups geared for those who are new to Drupal and are planning future events to help people ramp up.
At the last Maryland Meetup we talked about the Maryland Association (did I get the name right) and it's mission in educating people about Drupal. This includes the Maryland DrupalCamp scheduled on March 22, 23 2013.
