BRIDGE has recently embarked on a mission to raise awareness about computer science careers and degree programs in the state of Rhode Island. Despite the fact that these degrees and careers are extremely rewarding, our state’s higher ed institutions have a difficult time filling their computer science seats each year, while industry sees a perpetual need for skilled IT professionals.
We are currently developing a campaign to get high school students excited about careers in computing and attract them to the field. Part of this campaign involves producing a video that features local application developers and programmers to spotlight the rewarding aspects of careers in technology. We are especially looking for recent college graduates, up to five years out of school, currently doing programming – web-based, mobile, enterprise, etc.
