(I thought I had posted this already—sorry about that!)
Our regular monthly meetup will be next Monday, the 8th, at Stetson's on U st. As always, we'll be in the upstairs bar, and we'll do some lightning talks and hang out for a bit. Last month, Ted Spencer proposed we do a "stump the expert" style panel, for "How would I do X in Drupal?" type questions. He's offered to moderate again this month (if he's able to make the event), so that might be happening after the lightning talks.
So far, I've got just one talk lined up:
- Danielle S: Drupal 8 UX changes. Danielle has also offered to talk about the newly-rekindled Project Management group on g.d.o and what they're up to, if there's time.
If you've got something you'd like to speak about, let me know at brock@brockboland.com. These 5-8 minute lightning talks could be about a recently launched products, a module you've just released, a recap of a Drupal event you attended, or a comparison of two alternative solutions to a problem, like Mark's SASS v LESS talk a couple months ago.

Columbus Day?
So, stupid question, Monday is Columbus day. We'd been moving them out a week because of a Monday holiday, are we no longer doing that? I'm thinking maybe this changed in the last year and I missed it. So, we're no longer moving the meetup if it falls on a holiday, correct?
There's a conference in rosslyn the following week on all kinds of OSS stuff (mostly related to the Defense and Homeland Security set, but it's got lots of open sorucey goodness for everyone). http://mil-oss.org/wg4 If your interested and want more info, drop me a line at kirsten.burgard@gsa.gov Happy to give you the info I know. I'm hoping to confirm a session with some folks doing cool stuff with CKAN and Drupal (developers of Recline).
Just a minor kind of drupal geeky girl and for the US government no less!
I didn't know about the
I didn't know about the holiday thing. Make sense, but Columbus Day isn't really a people-aren't-around-because-they-leave-town holiday, right?
columbo day
I can say only anecdotally, I will not be able to make it due to being out of town.
But, it is DC, there a large number of government folks.
