Its Durga Puja time in Kolkata. The most celebrated one. Wishing everyone a Happy Durga Puja already coz I know people have already started shopping for the festival :)
Drupal Region Day is being celebrated at every major city in India and we would definitely like Kolkata to enjoy the same. We are organizing a free Drupal workshop / demo / training on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Here is the idea.
Event: Drupal Region Day - Kolkata
Event Type: Sharing Drupal experience
Event Date: Saturday, October 13, 2012
Event Time: 4pm to 6pm
Tentative Event Venue: CCD Sector 5 (the venue can change if the number of people attending is huge)
Expected Participants:
- Drupalers in Kolkata - there are just too many who we have not reached
- Open Source Web Developers in Kolkata
- Students interested in CS
Agenda of the event:
- Sharing experience in Drupal
- Organize workshops / training / demo for Drupalers / students / organizations

Thanks for the workshop to be scheduled on 13th. I will try to attend the workshop for guidance of some advanced modules (core & contributed). I am mad about drupal.

I do not reckon meeting you at any of the earlier drupal meets in Kolkata. Greetings :-)
Good to know about your passion for Drupal. If you are on facebook (which most people check more often than the feeds of their groups on GDO), a good way to connect with other Drupalers in Kolkata is to join this FB group here - http://www.facebook.com/groups/229217230529226/
PS: My personal preference is to keep Kolkatans Drupal conversations on GDO, but if FB works better for most people, I am joining conversations there too. (mostly in the form of links back to relevant content on GDO or DO) :)

Actually I do not use facebook. Most of the people stuck there for hours without any added value output.
You do not recon me because due to personal reasons I couldn't attend previous meets.

At this point you could help there. Provide contact details of folks at colleges where we should be doing this.
Also, if you have time or can make time for this, would be great to have you onboard during the actual workshop.

We had connected with 2
We had connected with 2 colleges for this - Techno India and JU. At both these places the students body is busy with their placements, pre-pujo exams etc. and it seems like Oct 13th might not work out for them.
We would get a final word from these colleges on this by today EOD. If 13th Oct in deed does not work out, we would push the workshop for students to a later date.
