I know some people were looking to learn a bit about SCM (Source Code Management) with Git. If you want to contribue code back to the Drupal project or contrib. modules on drupal.org, you will need to learn Git.
The Des Moines Web Geeks is having a hands-on Git lab Monday, Nov. 12 at 6pm 9pm in Des Moines. I'm going to see if I can go. If I can, I would be willing to organize a carpool from Ames.

We're probably going to use Google Hangouts but we've not had great luck with them. However, in order for them to work I'll need to contact you and get your email address so that I can invite you to the hangout. Public ones quickly fill up with weirdos.
