Not everyone here knows each other, so please introduce yourselves, along with a bit about what you do with Drupal and why you're interested in making DrupalSouth Wellington happen.
I'll start. I'm Bevan. I work for CivicActions, a virtual/US Drupal shop for non-profits, progressive and positive-change organisations. Our mottos include; hook_world_alter() and saving the world, one node a time.
In NZ I claim high search results for anything Drupal on Drupal.geek.nz, 2.5 others and I organised the first DrupalSouth (Christchurch), I've initiated the organising of this DrupalSouth (Wellington), discussed dates and travel plans with Angie, Emma Jane and Addisun and done most of the work till this early stage – but this is where you guys can start taking over! :)
I'm passionate about Drupal and the community and want to share that passion and grow that community in NZ to support development and growth of Drupal developers, earn the respect of the international Drupal community, and build the community energy for what might be the Southern hemisphere's first "Drupal-Association-blessed" Drupalcon later in 2010.
I believe NZ's Drupal companies and developers suffer sorely from lack of community collaboration and strong reliable open source communities. I hope to help change that with this DrupalSouth.
I'm currently in Paris, France. I'll be here and online while you're all asleep for another 1.5 weeks, then I'll be mostly offline for two weeks while I honeymoon in Italy. After that I'll be in Thailand till Christmas time, then in Wellington for most of January. I haven't decided whether I'll attend LCA or not, but I most likely will.
I look forward to working with you all and getting to know you better through this adventure. Please look through the to do lists; Master, Venue, and Website and see what you can take on. Urgent things include calling and visiting possible venues, or suggesting ones not already listed. Voting on the logo for DrupalSouth Wellington, and working on the website.

hey I'm Donna - I organised LCA in Melbourne in 2008 - and am a big drupal fan. My business has started migrating all our clients off static HTML, and in-house CMS stuff to Drupal - and are doing all new dev with drupal.
We are also working on event modules for drupal.
I'm very very keen to see a DrupalCon in this region, and believe that resourcing and supporting local meets and camps is an important part of building functional capacity to run an international event.
based in Melbourne, will be at LCA2010 in Wellington.
