This is the first time we've come across this, so I wanted to propose the question to the group before I implement anything. We have a faculty member that is leaving our University and would like to redirect their current OS site to their new site. How do folks handle redirects when a scholar leaves?
Is there any solution where the user can set up the redirect themselves? I know I can set up redirects at the web server level (e.g. Apache .htaccess), but that can be cumbersome and require resources (however minimal) from my group. Not to mention if I decide to load balance the service, I will need to duplicate the redirect mappings.
Anyone have a good solution?
