Too! I have a couple of questions for sure if we don't end up doing slideshow ;) I know Murias was subduing a rules issue....See everyone tonight.

Hoping to . . .

I had a great time... that was a fun round-robin!

Sorry that Murias has been having Rules woes though... hope those are sorted out soon.

Great DUG!

It was lovely seeing everyone again and the round-robin was filled with a ton of interesting topics.

Here are some quick notes:

  • Tower as a GIT GUI on a Mac is powerful for quick branch visualization.

Responsive:
* Responsive image gallery woes - flexi-slider
* /pictures project - Look into the picture (responsive images) and may deal with retina display versions of images.
* Use of Feeds, Feeds Tamper - possible preso of Feeds vs. Migrate

Rules:
* Use of rules, etc
** possibly Rob cover that next session because he's heads down in it.
** need to grock Entities and Entity Wrappers for Metadata when rollin' with Rules
* Look at Node One training for Murias' rules woes

Organic Groups:
* extending theme info for group admins

DOM YOU Javascript!
* Block is at the end of the sidebar woes - add an empty div! it worked!
* MaxiMenu - the use of views slideshow in each menu link - awesome!
* Leverage Drupal Behaviors for dealing with some of the javascript complexities of above implementation

Multi-lingual:
* Auto translate of comments with lingo tech

Options and extensions of Features / Portable configurations Exports / Configuration Project, FTools

GitX

If you don't want to spend the money for Tower but want a GUI git client for off-github projects, this appears to be the latest active branch of GitX, generally the best free Git client for OS X:

Not sure what is best for other OSes at the moment. :)

Screencasting to document your website

darrylri's picture

Wow, Aimee, thanks for the great notes!

One thing I recall talking about was that I'm planning on documenting a website for its new owners with a series of screencasts. (I think this will be easier for me rather than writing a bunch of documents, and I think it will be easier for my client.)

There's a product called Screencast O Matic (http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/) that is platform neutral and runs as either a download or an install on your computer (it will install on a Mac or Windows platform, but it works as a download only on Ubuntu). It's free to use to make videos up to 15 minutes long in multiple formats (but they put in a watermark for their site). For $15/year, you get unlimited length and no watermark.

There are a bunch of tools and you can record in a number of different sizes.

My idea is to upload the videos to YouTube, either unlisted or password protected, and then include links to them at various points in the website admin pages, for instant reference.

Views Slideshow responsiveness

Fyi, this was the CSS I used to make Views Slideshow responsive:

Note that Tobin is using Flex Slider so that CSS would be different...

Tobin - check this out: http://drupal.org/node/1545198 as it refers to another issue with a patch that might help.
