Kalatheme ++
I'm using Kalatheme actively on client projects (we use Panopoly extensively, and have been doing since it was released in Denver last year). Like it very much. We are adapting it for Drupal Commerce right now.

I am very interested in Kalatheme but think it is a shame it is not possible to use without Panolopy. While Panolopy is a fine distro, it is way too heavy and assumes too much for most of my needs. I typically like to build panels sites from scratch. Kalatheme will ONLY work with Panolopy which is a shame. So I have been experimenting with the other panels optimized theme Radix and find it to be very good with a great group of contributors around it like Radix UI etc. I would encourage the developer of Kalatheme to remove the Panolopy only restrictions so it can gain a much wider audience. Not everybody wants to start with Panolopy for every site even when building similarly structured sites. Thanks for your participation! Cheers Kevin

I will certainly pass this on to the Kalatheme maintainer, as he is a close colleague of mine and a good friend as well. I understand your point of view, though I'm finding it very easy to reduce the weight of Panopoly as needed, while still keeping the benefits of the special sauce involved. But like I said, your point is still very well taken.

Open Framework is a Twitter Bootstrap Drupal 7 base theme maintained by meganem and hyperboy (me). It has built-in responsive block regions as well as Font Awesome integration. We are in the process of turning it into a drupal.org project. Check it out at openframework.stanford.edu.
