Commerce specific themes or not?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello,
I’m a beginner Drupal user (explains my question).
There are few themes made for Drupal Commerce and many other Drupal 7 themes that are not specifically built for it.
Does it matter which ones to use to have less potential problems?
Are paid Drupal Commerce themes more stable then free ones?
Any recommendations?
Thank you

Big questions...

Hi vikant--- welcome to Drupal. That's a big and difficult question for Drupal and appropriate theme. First off, I'd only like add that how much you pay has very little to with stability in Drupal and often it's the opposite. For example you might 10-50 dollars for a "paid" Drupal theme but it's likely been done in less time and under less critical review than much of the "free" drupal themes available on drupal.org....

In terms of answering your main question about what theme might work best? well it's a fair question but one you'll likely just need to try and play with to see which you like best....

Good luck! Glad to have you in the Drupal Community!

Do search in Themes for responsive

I have enough sites I can pretty well say that over 40% of my traffic to the sites is from mobile devices. I suggest anyone building a site, especially a commerce site use responsive (mobile friendly) themes.

I like the AT commerce theme because of the colorwheel. You can make some very easy changes and really alter the site appearance significantly by the use of color. The Bartik responsive is a good place to start, but it won't have the features of a AT commerce.

Never start with paid for themes. Go with free versions until you have firm idea of what you want in the site presentations and know what kind of support you will have. I always look at the issues queue for modules and themes before installing. If you are looking at a theme that has a lot of active issues and there have NOT been fixes applied in several months...you get the idea. Look for active issues queue on all modules or themes, with recent fixes.

If you go at Drupal with the idea of coding you need to think again. The devs are constantly coming with new releases and it is practically impossible to keep up. You might keep up and do some of your own coding with only a couple of sites, but even then it can be a nuisance to have to keep re-coding.

Best regards
