Hello Everyone!

Thought you may find this interesting. Telamenta is well represented too:

I bought the top list from Amazon/Alexa for the top 14 000 sites in South Africa, then this site also automatically draws the JSON analysis from the git repo of Wappalizer, parses it and uses it as PHP logic to then visit each of the sites and try to figure out the back-end technology used:

It's copy is written with a Drupal bias of course ;-)

Cheers,
Riaan

Nice to see such a good list of South African sites. Not to mention the other stats listed, interesting info. Thanks Riaan !

Interestingly, to start with

Interestingly, to start with before I had the more legit dataset from Amazon, I wrote a parser that ate all of the top list from http://www.satopsites.com which lists lower-end sites in general. Good-enough to use to build the analysis part, but its portion of Joomla! sites compared to Drupal ones were much higher.

The top 50 sites contains quite a few sites for which design breaks in my default browser (Firefox on Linux) and I don't think I noticed any responsive sites in there.

Was considering adding a page to the site listing the top 50 under each other with tick-boxes for things like responsive, HTML5, no-www, accessibility, development firm (perhaps from a meta tag that can be added as great sites often do not have a sig in their footer for this) etc.

This will help create something to live up to so that we can gamify the betterment of the best Drupal sites in SA to also better represent Drupal here.

I dare say all of these top 50 sites together may have cost less than R 140m to develop ;-)

Suppose we can't be surprised about the Joomla! and Wordpress coverage. HOWEVER, what hides in those pies is the page numbers per platform and there lies a nice advantage.
It is a pity that the standard of design doesnt relate to the budgets floating around. Its difficult to remain neutral with a client and at the same time still forceful with the opinion that a well designed site, to suit a modern browser, is 'priceless' in comparison to one that breaks in a 10 yr old browser. ..don't bite the hand that something something sky so brite..

Would love to see the responsive and design firm data, good to know who can do what. It's easy to see that pitching responsiveness to the SA audience will soon take over the pitching of 'open source' and 'CMS'.

And to have responsive stats, even per platform, would be a nice headliner for any tender or project outline.
I would have to agree on the 140m lucky packet, mmm cherry must be lovin those dolla dolla bills..
