OS versions overview?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Looking at the current development process in github, there are many versions already of OS 3 but what are the differences? Any overview?

From a previous discussion topic rbrandon wrote:
SCHOLAR-3-0 is the first release of 3.0 and contains the code to migrate from Drupal 6
SCHOLAR-3.1 is the second major releases with some new features and many bugfixes
SCHOLAR-3.x is bleeding edge and where all major development happens, It would be helpful if pull requests are made against this branch.

Now there are versions like
SCHOLAR-3.2
SCHOLAR-3.3
SCHOLAR-3.4
Can someone please write couple of words about the newer versions?

Comments

They're all similar to 3.1.

They're all similar to 3.1. Major releases with some new features and bug fixes. 3.3 was on a shortened cycle for internal reasons, and 3.4 is everything that was planned for 3.3 but didn't make it.

3.4 will be officially released today. We're currently putting together release notes for it.

How version I could use?

Our first draft on migrating

Our first draft on migrating OpenScholar to 3.0 can be found here:

You'll be the first we know of to try it though, so I would migrate onto a staging server and keep your production data around until you can check over the migration.
