The next meeting of the East Bay Drupal Users Group is on a topic that will be of great interest to many in the community -- the new features coming in Drupal 8, and particularly the all-new theme layer. We'll do a quick overview of some of the many new and exciting features in Drupal 8: Symfony! Spark! Mobile! Web services and Views in Core! And of course Twig, Drupal's new theme layer. After the intro, though, we'll get into the meat (non-meat protein for you vegans) of the meeting: an introduction to the new theme layer by the one and only Jennifer Lampton, the Twig project lead. Jen will explain why we're switching from the PhpTemplate we've gotten used to and going with something entirely new -- and then she'll show you what the new, more powerful, and simpler world of Twig looks like. But that's not all! The Twig project needs people, and Jen will show you how you can lend a hand and help change the world, even if you're not a coding guru (though if you are there's stuff for you to do too, of course.)
