Drupal 8 Essentials is a two-day training class intended for Drupal developers who will be faced with building or porting modules for Drupal 8 and want to get a leg-up. Learn directly from senior developers and module maintainers including Web Services Core Initiative Lead Larry Garfield.

The class, delivered in four sessions, will demonstrate how to build modules for Drupal 8, leveraging object-oriented techniques, modern PHP functionality such as namespaces, and dependency injection. We will review the key changes in the new Drupal 8 architecture, much of which has been inherited from Symfony2: the new "kernel" architecture, the new routing system, the configuration system, Plugins, Entities, all of the key parts of the Drupal 8 platform. We will also discuss good practices around test-driven development and testable code, which Drupal 8 enables more so than any earlier release. Personal laptop required.

Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the two-day class.

Registration is now open and space is limited to 15, so sign up early. You can read more about the class outline on our registration page here: http://palantir.eventbrite.com/
