I started working at Acquia a while back and have been amazed by the breadth and depth of the on-going activities/projects. I was also quite surprised to learn about various partnership models that I was unaware of, but that appear to be real "win-win" scenarios.
In fact, a friend of mine was commenting on how Acquia was a "king maker" as a result of the amount of business that it can drive towards its development partners. In fact, he was complaining that his shop wasn't "on Acquia's radar" and so hadn't benefitted from a "bump".
Anyway, I'm from Montreal and would like to see more local shops (which I'll extend to include Ottawa and Quebec City) getting onto Acquia's radar. So, if you represent a credible Drupal shop in the region who could potentially be interested in evaluating partnerships (no financial commitment required), please get in touch with me and I'll see what I can do.

While I've had my own reservations about Acquia's role in the community over the years, my overall analysis led me to view them as having a clear net-positive influence. Do you really see Acquia as "the dark side" or is that just reflective of their apparent corporate focus? If so, why?

... the contrast is pretty stark/noteworthy. That being said, I think that Acquia would have something to learn from Koumbit and vice-versa. In any case, I appreciate this follow-up Ryan.
