Git/GitHub Web Hook Problemo

I'm having a problem getting my GitHub web hook to work properly. What I'm trying to do is to automatically pubilsh to a web server once the master branch has been updated from a private repository. The problem that I'm continually running into is the server keeps prompting for username and password, and this stops the script dead in its tracks. I've tried overcomming this by trying out osxkeychian for HTTPS, but I continually get this error when I run an update from the command line: /usr/bin/git-credential-osxkeychain: 1: /usr/bin/git-credential-osxkeychain: Syntax error: "(" unexpected

I also have tried using SSH and have a SSH key installed on the server. However, I am still prompted for the passphrase when I try running from the command line.

To me, it doesn't matter if I pull via HTTPS or SSH, or if I have to set up a method to shell exec my password. I just want the web hook to work.

FYI, I am running a Ubnutu instance on an EC2 server.

one thing I just learned with post commit hooks is that is smart to disable a module on the server before pushing a commit in which that module is removed from the repo :P
