Hi All,

Is there a way to limit the search results on a site (using the built in search bar) to just display results from that person’s own OS site? Right now, if you search for terms, the user gets results from other pages on OpenScholar (and the urls look like they are from the site owner’s own page but when you click on them, they are not).

Is there a way to edit these results?

We are running Version 2.0-RC1.

Thank you.

angelb,

Sorry for the delayed response.

The behavior you describe is what I thought the search bar did by default. Are you using the search bar that came with a vsite or is there some customization in there as well?

I don't suppose I could interest you in upgrading to the drupal 7 version of OS. I don't believe we've officially dropped support for 6, but we've been using 7 exclusively for almost a year now and hardly remember 6.

Looking into Upgrading

Hi Jon,

No, we did not do customization for the search bar function (we are using the default search bar in the vsite). But if we wanted to customize it where it only searches the owner's site in our installation, can we do that?

We are looking to upgrade, but in the meantime, we have users on this version that want the search bar to only search their site.

In the Drupal 7 version, we can do this fairly easily, correct?

Thank you for your help.

angelb, Just double checked.

angelb,

Just double checked. In 7, that's how it works out of the box. The site search widget searches only your own site.
