DrupalCamp Atlanta (Sat. Oct 19) - Who's Going?

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

DrupalCamp Atlanta is approaching quickly - Saturday, October 19, 2013. Aside from Florida DrupalCamp, it's annually the largest Drupal event in the Southeast United States.

It is a great opportunity for the regional community to get together for a full day of learning, networking, community contributions, and some fun.

I'll definitely be heading to the camp (DrupalEasy is a sponsor, after all!), and I'm wondering who else from Florida will be making the trip.

Last year a good number of people from Brevard County carpooled to the event, who is interested in doing it again this year?

Hotel rooms are just $99 (if you book by Sept 28).

Camp

I'm going and I'll be pitching a tent in the parking lot. I'm going up on Thursday and coming home on Sunday. I'll be happy to caravan but, anyone who's seen my car knows, I can't be carpooling. Hope you can find something for me, as a rank novice, to do there. I could run cocktails to the "sprint tables" I guess. Paul

Two days of driving for one day of conference is a bit much for me, so I'm seeing if I can redeem some airline miles for this. If it works out, I'll go.

I'll be there! Mike, we'll be

Cool. You want to split a room too? I don't snore.

Also, I submitted a session: https://www.drupalcampatlanta.com/session/46-rules-and-techniques-make-d...

Did you find somebody to split the room with you?

Definitely need a ride

Robert_Z's picture

I'd certainly like to go, but I can't take my car as my wife needs it, so I'd need to carpool with Mike A or someone else in Brevard who lives nearby.
She could drop me off somewhere so no one would have to drive right to my house necessarily.

I'll be there

I'm headed to ATL on Friday morning and coming back Sunday afternoon -- leaving from Palm Coast. I could definitely provide a ride for help with the gas money.

Code Sprint?

ultimike's picture

Ideally, I'm thinking that I'd live to arrive sometime on Friday, and head back either late Sunday (after the code sprint) or Monday morning.

Anyone else's travel plans match up with this?

I will be going, likely drive

I will be going, likely drive up Friday morning and return Sunday. Time Sunday will depend on quality of sprint work going on.

I would like to carpool with someone that is leaving from Brevard on Friday, going to the code sprint on Sunday, then returning Monday. Will help out with fuel expense.

Would also like to share a room. I was able to find 3 nights with free wi-fi at wyndham resorts about 5-7 minutes away for a total of $213.06.

disclaimer If the smell of sweet-tarts, hawaiian punch, or pineapple-orange-banana offend you in anyway, I will not be a good roomie as they are my current favorite vapes. =)

I need to carpool!

Returning late Saturday...

FloridaMark's picture

I would enjoy the company (and the optional assistance with travel costs). I am planning to leave Gainesville later in the day on Friday and return to G'Ville late in the day on Saturday. I will probably try to grab a room Friday night and can split that cost too. I will need to return Saturday evening right after the final sessions.

Let me know if you are interested.

Friday depart-Sunday return

Robert_Z's picture

I'll clarify that I'd like to leave Friday (morning or afternoon, it doesn't matter) and return Sunday morning (because Saturday night would probably be a mega drive). I would've liked to maybe do the code sprint, but all day Sunday means leaving too late for me and I can't wait till Monday AM.

I can split a room with someone as well to defray that cost.

So I can help pay for gas, or help out with the driving if someone has a problem with driving 7+ hrs straight, but I can't take my car.

Linda? Any other DCSP'ers?
