To elaborate a document by a team, there is also the ERDO way of using a discussion, with the coordinator correcting the text according to consensus. I prefer that way but, I don't know, maybe others prefer this other wiki style, to directly edit the text. (juan_g, 2009-10-31)

I've combined some elements of 1 and 2 and created a 3rd version. I liked the less formal tone of No. 2 and have added some more upbeat language (eg "We're excited... etc) I've also relaxed things by asking for initial expressions of interest - I think nominations need a lot of work - but perhaps we could just get some rough ideas first, to see who would be interested as a starting point. Testing a possible Asia-Pacific image (Bevan asked for one). The included copyright notice and link would be necessary for the 300x300 image, even when it can be considered non-profit fair use (see guidelines from Google Maps). Also, this image -with this scale- appears to come mainly from NASA (US government), and therefore would be in the public domain. The small 85x85 image could be used as the avatar for the "DC Asia-Pacific" account. (juan_g, 2009-11-04)
