Drupalcon Commotion
As usual, Drupalcom is screwing with our schedule. Normally, tomorrow would be the Drupal User Group. However, that has been postponed one week, until next Wednesday, one day prior to the our scheduled Drupal Happy Hour.
This months user group meeting is the long awaited Drupal vs. Wordpress Debate (Wed Oct. 2).

We can't postpone the Drupal Happy Hour a week, because that would interfere with Drupal Coder night. Not yet announced, but normally the second Thursday of the month.

Reasons for changing happy hour:
* To avoid conflicts with other Drupal events (2 events next week?)
* To celebrate Drupalcon and discuss any news or anouncements that are trickling back to US.
* To commiserate with each other about NOT being in Prague this week
I plan on being there on Thursday, as long as anyone else is interested....
Does this makes sense? Who else is coming?

If the final day of Drupal Con - I don' t know about you, but I'm exhausted from not being there and need a beer. I've heard from a handful of folks coming tonight. I look forward to the discussion.
I watched Dries Buytaert Keynote yesterday. He spends a few minutes during Q&A responding to Backdrop fork. I'm curious what others have to say about this situation.
Also, I'm just looking forward to my monthly dose of Shawarma!

Nice Discussion
Tonight was a small Happy Hour with only 5 participants, but we had a very lively discussion - mostly focused on Backdrop and it's implications for the Drupal community.
If there is sufficient interest - folks can certainly gather again next week. I suggest that anyone interested speak up, so that Drew knows whether or not he is going to be alone.... :-)
I"m still not sure about my plans, if things go well - I might be up for two Drupal meetings next week.
